1008 Thiruvilakku Poojai in Sivakasi Ayyapan Kovil

1008 Thiruvilakku Poojai and Pushpanjali Pooja was performed in Sivakasi Ayyapan Kovil, on 10th March 2013, Sunday. Priest in the temple gave spiritual speech and headed the 1008 Thiruvilakku Poojai. The temple was decorated with festoons, colour papers and attractive lights. As it was Siva Rathiri most of the temples in Sivakasi were decorated and devotees throng temples in large numbers. People from various towns, villages and cities came to Sivakasi to worship their family god on Siva Rathiri Fest, in Sivakasi. Through out the night people worship Lord Shiva and their family gods and they stay awake. On the eve of Maha Siva Rathiri Fest, the commercial streets of the Sivakasi town were filled with a maddening crowd busy shopping. There was hike in the rates of flowers and poojai materials, on account of the Siva Rathiri festival.
