Hike in Jasmine price

In Sivakasi, the price of Jasmine was Rs.200 per kg on Second Week of August 2013, while it skyrocketed to Rs.300 per kg on 22nd August, 2013. This sudden rise in price this week is due to crop loss. Also theres more demand due to the approaching wedding season in Tamil Aavani month considered auspicious. Jasmine price rise may continue till Vinayakar Chathurthi. Due to hike in Jasmine price, Sivakasi florist prefer selling Rose, Kanagambaram and pichipoo, instead of Jasmine.
