Dengue awareness camp held

Last week, Sivakasi Municipality had launched an extensive drive against dengue by conducting awareness programmes in Sivakasi schools. Today dengue awareness programme was held at Devammar Kalyana Mandapam, Sivakasi, at 11:00 a.m.. Hindu Devammar Higher Secondary Students, Staff and Municipality officials participated in the programme. In his speech, Dr.V.K.Kathiravan, Chairman, Sivakasi Municipality, highlighted that, Dengue fever could be controlled by proper environmental management and personal protection measures. Earlier on 11th November 2013, Sivakasi Municipality in association with Jaycees Matriculation Hr. Sec. School, organised Dengue Awareness Programme at the senior campus and on 12th November 2013, dengue awareness camp was held at SHNV Boys Higher Secondary School, Sivakasi. Through power point presentation students and staff were given awareness lectures on dengue fever, by Dr.V.K.Kathiravan.
