Rain lashed Sivakasi

Heavy rains, accompanied by strong wind, thunder and lightning lashed Sivakasi town, today, at evening from 05:45 p.m. to 07:20 p.m. The drains were overflowed and the roads remained flooded for some hours. Rainy onslaughts leave several roads damaged, in Sivakasi. Several low-lying areas in the town were inundated after the incessant heavy rain. The steady rain not only chilled Sivakasi grounds but also filled the water tanks of Sivakasians. The downpour brought cheers for Sivakasians, once again. And still rain continues. Caught unawares of the rain most Sivakasians especially students and office-goers, in the absence of umbrellas, were drenched. They took shelter inside nearby buildings, temple pandhals and tea shops. A few spells of rain are expected for next ten days in Sivakasi town. The non stop heavy downpour was a bit of surprise for Sivakasians.
