79 years old Sivakasi “Young” man finishes marathon in 6 hours

The second edition of the Wipro Chennai marathon 2013 was held on 1st December 2013, Sunday. Over 10,000 runners participated enthusiastically in the marathon. Several enthusiasts cheered on the runners that included athletes from Uganda, Dubai, Algeria and Ethiopia and 16 amputee blade runners, who also participated and completed the marathon. Both young and old, beyond their differences ran together. Last year-s winner Ismail Ssenyange from Uganda successfully defended his title in the full marathon spanning 42.2 kilometres. He clocked in a time of 2 hours and 32 minutes to emerge the winner. Sivakasi, T.D.Rajendran, 79 y.o., complete the full Marathon in 6 hours. He got extra loud cheers on completing the full marathon.
