1008 Thiruvilakku Procession Staged in Sivakasi

Today, 1008 Thiruvilakku Procession was staged in Sivakasi. The procession started after worshiping Goddess Kadai Kovil Amman at 6:00 p.m. and ended the procession by placing all the Thiruvilakku in Sri Arulmighu Mariamman Thirukovil, Sivakasi. Procession was inaugurated by Mrs.Vijayamohini Annamalaisamy, President, Sri Kaliswari Nadar Magalir Mandram, Sivakasi. Around 15 Nadar Magalir Mandra members were participated in the procession. Mr.Rajappan, Sri Kaliswari Group of Industries, Mr.Annamalaisamy, Sri Kaliswari Group of Industries, Mr.Kutralam Artist, Mr.Duraisamy Nadar were present in the procession. Dr.Kathiravan, Chairman, Sivakasi Municipality, was also take part in the procession. Special pujas were performed to Goddess Mariamman. Kulavai rent the air. Devotees offered special prayers. Mr.Kutralam Artist honoured Chief Guest Dr.Kathiravan with a shawl. Mrs.Siva Sankari Kathiravan presented shawl to Mrs.Sundaravalli. Mrs.Siva Sankari Kathiravan was honoured with a Shawl by Mrs.Vijaya Mohini.

Mrs.Vijayamohini Annamalaisamy said sivakasiweekly.com that this procession will takes place every year on the 1st day of Margali month of Tamil calendar, for the peace and wellbeing of Sivakasi Town and the country. The town police made elaborate security arrangements to ensure peace during the procession.
