Statistical Solutions To Biological Problems

On behalf of the Department of Biotechnology of Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College (Autonomous) - Sivakasi, with the esteemed approval from the CORRESPONDENT’s Chair, a One day state level workshop entitled “STATISTICAL SOLUTIONS TO BIOLOGICAL PROBLEMS” has been organized on 23rd September 2014, Tuesday. The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Dr.V.Pandiyarajan, Principal, ANJAC and addressed the gathering about the significance of statistical interpretation in the present research scenario. He also stated the importance of workshop and significantly insisted about the mode of “Learning by Doing” procedure in modern teaching. Dr.D.N.P.Sudarmani, Head Department of Biotechnology has delivered the welcome address to the gatherings. Workshop manual was released during the occasion by Prof. Dr.V.Pandiyarajan, Principal, ANJAC. Dr.K.Sivakumar, Associate professor, Department of Biotechnology was the chief guest of the workshop. He was invited from Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Technology, Kancheepuram to cater the minds and to expertise them in statistics. The whole day was split in to two sessions according to the present need based expectations of the students, research scholars and faculty. Both the sessions were very interactive and also participants have exhibited their hidden talents through generating biological problem and solved them through statistical approach. Around 143 students and faculty represented from different district like Thanjavur, Namakkal, Madurai, Trichy and Virudhunagar. Dr.J.Vijayakumar, Assistant professor [Young scientist - SERB], had delivered welcome address to the students during the valedictory function. Prof. Dr.V.Pandiyarajan, Principal felicitates the occasion and gave the certificates to the participants. Dr.P.Samuel, Assistant Professor and organizer of the workshop has delivered the vote of thanks.
