Raattinam begins arriving for Panguni Pongal

For the last two days, Raattinam begins arriving for Panguni Pongal Festival, in Sivakasi town. Some raatinams are not yet installed, it is expected that it will be installed by tomorrow evening. With children riding on the miniature version of rangaraatinam, bike raatinam, toys raatinam, kuthirai raatinam and varieties of nerthikadan dolls and earthern pots stacked up for sale on the roadside, vendors selling ornaments and toy sellers and several other items put up by villagers for sale, the key junctions around Sivakasi Mariamman temple resembled a village fair.
