Lecture on Photo Journalism held at AJ College

The Post Graduate Department of English of Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College organized a Guest Lecture for the I and the II M.A. English students on 16.7.2015, Thursday. Mr.P.Kaliraj II M.A. English welcomed the gathering. Mrs.B.Rathika, Head of the Department of English, (P.G) delivered the Presidential Address. The lecture was organized in two sessions. In the morning session between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Mrs.Yamunai Selvan, Research Scholar, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, delivered a lecture on “Introduction to Journalism”. He highlighted the types of journalism and opportunities prevailed in the field of journalism for the students of English literature.

In the afternoon session K.Manikkam, Assistant Professor in Journalism, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli addressed the students on the topic “Photo Journalism” from 2:30 p.m to 4:00 p.m. He also highlighted the speciality of “Wedding Journalism” and its scope.

The Students gave feed backs at the end of the programme Ms.V.Pavithra, I M.A.English proposed Vote of Thanks. The meeting was arranged by Mrs.M.Akila, the Vice-President of the Phoenix Literary Association.
