Lorry strike likely to affect the fireworks industry

Movement of fireworks and other goods were affected in Tamil Nadu as truckers began a nationwide strike from last Thursday to press for their various demands. The strike is likely to affect the fireworks industry in Sivakasi. "It is time to transport the last batch of fireworks to north India. If the strike prolongs, it will result in clogging of stock", said T Kannan, president of the Indian Fireworks Manufacturers Association.
