Sivakasi celebrates Independence Day

Sivakasi celebrates the country-s 70th Independence Day by unfurling the national flag and organising cultural events to mark the occasion, today. Indian flags were placed at key junctions of Sivakasi town. Sivakasians were seen with flag pinned in their shirt. Majority of the schools in Sivakasi conducted cultural programme to celebrate Independence Day. To mark the celebrations, an assemblage of events took place ranging from patriotic songs to dances. Skits were presented by the school students of different classes to commemorate the freedom struggle. Sweets were distributed.
