Food Adulteration & Safety Awareness Programme held at AAA College

Sivakasi, AAA College of Engineering &Technology in association with Tamil Nadu Food Safety and Drugs Administration Department, Virudhunagar District organized a Food Safety Awareness Programme on 16th March 2018 have organized an awareness programme on Food Adulteration & Safety in our college’s A/C seminar hall on March 16, 2018.  Dr. T.Anuradha M.B.B.S., District Designated Officer of Food Safety Department, Virudhunagar District was the Guest Speaker of the Awareness Programme. Dr.P.Ganesan, the Correspondent felicitated the programme.

Dr. T. Anuradha explicated the food safety knowledge of the customers from shopping to eating. She elucidated the negative impact of unhealthy food items and warned the students about the threat of food borne diseases. She further instructed the customers to demand for quality food products wherever necessary. This was followed by a demonstration session on Food Adulteration. Our students showed greater interest and presented a drama on the “Necessity of Healthy Food” by S. Ashok & Co., IV Civil. S. Bala Meenakshi, III CSE displayed a model on “Healthy Food and Junk Food”. K. Prakash, II Civil presented a pictorial presentation of the three varieties of food. He has well represented the safety level of the food in comparison with Traffic Signal Board “Red Yellow Green denoting Stop Caution Go”. Dr. P. Ganesan gave away the Food Safety Pamphlets to the students. Encouraging the student’s active participation, the Food Safety Department awarded the students with gifts. The students registered feedback about the programme.

Chairman Shri.P.Panjurajan, Secretary Dr.P.Karvannan, Correspondent Dr.P.Ganesan, Joint Secretary Er.K.Vignesh Kumar B.E., MBA (UK), Principal Dr.K.Arulmozhi organized the camp with an objective to create an awareness of Food Adulteration among the student.
