Golu Dolls Sale picks up

Whenever festivals such as Navarathiri, Diwali, Christmas or New Year’s Day approach, Gift shops in Sivakasi start concentrating on the sale of festival-related articles. As Navarathiri Festival arrives Sivakasi shop owners procure articles such as golu dolls, colourful paper and other decorating materials, well in advance of the Navarathiri festival. Like every year, new types of golu doll sets have arrived this year too and with Navratri round the corner, Sivakasians have started buying dolls to make their golu (arrangement of the dolls during Navratri) as artistic as possible. The price of dolls ranged from Rs.100 to Rs.1,500.
