Sales picks up for roadside hawkers

As Diwali is nearing, sales picks up for roadside hawkers for last two days, in Sivakasi. Diwali crackers buyers from variuos States, cities, towns and villages are eager in visiting fireworks showrooms and buying the fancy items in fireworks. In last one week, around 200 roadside shops and hackers mushroomed from the road to Sivakasi bus stand to Manickam Textiles. For last one week, due to increase in floating population in the town, there was high traffic jam in the major roads, at all the times. All the shops were overcrowded. Everyone carrying gift boxes, diwali dresses, sweet boxes and home appliances with big smile on their face. As bonus has been given from yesterday onwards, the roadside hackers expecting the sales will be doubled.
