Petrol price hiked by Rs.2.53 p/l in Sivakasi

Petrol price was hiked by a steep Rs.2.53 a litre on 15th May 2013, Saturday, the second increase in rates this month. The hike, which is effective from Saturday midnight, in Sivakasi, is excluding local sales tax or VAT and actual increase for consumers will be higher. Petrol price in Sivakasi was hiked by Rs.2.53 a litre to Rs.69.65 from Rs.67.12 previously. Mr.R.P.Natarajan,Manager,HP Autocare Centre, Sivakasi, said sivakasiweekly.com that, the recent hike is petrol price is due to devaluation of rupee against US dollar which made imports costlier.
