Fireworks remain out of reach for the common man in Sivakasi

Despite steep increase of 25% in fireworks price, demand has not come down this Diwali. Families which spent Rs.1,000/- on crackers last Diwali will now have to spend around Rs.1,300/- to Rs.1,500/- for the same. The hike is because of increase in prices of raw materials and low production due to labour shortage. Diwali loses sparkle and fireworks remain out of reach for the common man in Sivakasi too.
