11-11-2013 11th November 2013 Courtesy: The Times of India Cleanliness drive at Sivakasi railway station A mass cleanliness drive was carried out in Sivakasi railway station on Saturday. Around 200 students from seven schools and one college in Sivakasi participated. It was held to create awareness about cleanliness among travellers arriving at railway stations. Railway officials distributed pamphlets containing cleanliness messages to passengers in trains and at station. The Southern Railway Bharat Scouts and Guides held out placards during the arrival and departure of trains at the station. The institutes that participated in the mission are SHNV higher secondary school, SHNV Matriculation HSS, Muslim HSS, Coronation Girls HSS, Jayacees Matric. Hr. Sec. School, YRTV Matriculation Hr. Sec. school and Vinayagar Matric Hr. Sec. School. Students of Sankaralingam Buvaneswari College of Pharmacy too took part. The campaign was inaugurated by V Ajithkumar, additional divisional manager, Madurai, in the presence of Chandrika Jayasankar, railway divisional personnel officer. |
