Netrikadan Dolls sale picks up in Sivakasi

Netrikadan dolls made of sand and clay, sale picks up from yesterday onwards. As Nerthikadan some devotees carried hand, leg, baby dolls made of sand and clay, Ayiramkan paanai and Agni Chatti and offered to Goddess Mariamman. Clay dolls vendors have been mushrooming in the town, for the last two days, near Mariamman Kovil and Church. Many of them can be seen displaying their colourful dolls, muthus and pots. In Sivakasi, clay doll price ranges from Rs.50/- and price of agni chatti / aayiramkan paanai is Rs.100/-, and one packet Muthu is Rs.20/-. Some devotees began to offer the dolls to amman from yesterday onwards. A vendor near Roman Catholic Church said sivakasiweekly.com that the sale of dolls and pots will be doubled during pongal and kayirukuthu festival.
