Rally stresses importance of rainwater harvesting

A rally to raise awareness on the importance of rainwater harvesting was taken out in Sivakasi town on 10th June 2014, Tuesday. Sivakasi Municipality has launched a campaign on Tuesday to promote awareness among Sivakasians on the importance of rainwater harvesting. Sivakasi Hindu Nadar Girls Higher Secondary School students took out a rally as a part of the campaign. Flagged off by Dr.V.K.Kathiravan, Chairman, Sivakasi Municipality, at the School premises in the presence of school management member Mrs.A.Vijaya Mohini, the rally passed through important thoroughfares including the four car streets of Sivakasi. SHNG students raised slogans asking the Sivakasians to create structures in their homes and offices to harvest rainwater effectively.
