Join hands to remove water-depleting Karuvelam Trees – Dr.V.K.Kathiravan

In a press conference, Dr.V.K.Kathiravan, Chairman, Sivakasi Municipality, said, let us join hands to remove water depleting Karuvelam maram in Sivakasi town. The press meet was arranged by Sivakasi Municipality in association with Sivakasi Pasumai Iyakkam, on 30th July 2014, Wednesday, at Sudarson Plaza. More than 20 reporters from Print media and TV media were present during the Press Meet. Addressing the press conference Dr.V.K.Kathiravan said, in a move to conserve water, Sivakasi Municipality has taken out several initiative measures to clear Karuvelam Trees (Prosopis Juliflora), in Sivakasi town. He asked public and Social Clubs and other associations in Sivakasi to join hands to remove Seemai Karuvelam. Clearing Karuvelam maram would improve water table in Sivakasi, he added.
