Sivakasi Perummal Temple pulls in big crowd for Puratasi

Purattasi Saturday an auspicious day for Lord Perummal. During Purattasi Saturday, many devotees visited perummal temple and offer prayers to the Lord. In Sivakasi, hundreds of devotees thronged Sivakasi Arulmighu Venkatachalapathy Perummal Thirukovil on the first Saturday of Purattasi (20th September 2014, Saturday). Long queues of devotees were seen outside the temple. Devotees offer their prayer to the lord, from 04:30 a.m. onwards. Special pujas were performed and devotees offer Tulsi Garland to Lord Perummal and Betal garland to Hanuman. In Sivakasi Tulsi Garland priced Rs.20/- to Rs.25/- per garland. The rush continued for several hours. Bhajan was arranged in the temple. The roadside vendors selling flowers and fruits did brisk business as devotees made purchases of these items.
