Sivakasi celebrated Ayutha Poojai

Ayudha Puja is a part of the Navarathiri festival which is usually celebrated on the ninth day of Navratri festival. It is a celebration involving the worship of the tools which makes ones living. It is believed that by placing these implements in front of the Divine on this day will ritually purify the tools. On the eve of Navaratri Festival, Pakka Vaazhai was placed in almost all the offices across the town. Sivakasians worshiped Goddess Saraswathi and Lakshmi along with their friends, relatives and workers. And distributed them Sundal, Aval Pori and Vilaam Pazham. On account of Saraswathi Pooja majority of the offices and industries announced half day holiday, in Sivakasi. In some houses Kolu was celebrated in a grand manner. Some worshiped by placing school book and notes in front of the Goddess.
