With Diwali round the corner, guess who are in great demand in the Fireworks city? Its the tailors across the town. Their demand is so palpable that the whirrs of their sewing machines have already filled the air. Sivakasians have already started queuing up outside the tailoring shops to stitch clothes for both men and women. As Sivakasi tailors are fully booked and rushing to meet deadlines for the Diwali season many of them have stopped taking new orders. A tailor said sivakasiweekly.com that, tailoring staff had to be paid for the extra hours put in as they had to rush to meet the demand and complete the work in time for Diwali.
