Solai Colony Celebrated Therukattu Pongal

To mark the Thai Pongal Festival Sivakasi Solai Colony organised Therukattu Pongal on 15th January 2014, Thursday. People of all communities in Solai Colony and even religions participate in the entertaining street festival and strengthen the secular fabric of the Solai Colony street. The street was decorated with colour papers, festoons, flowers, thoranais, Veppilai thoranais, decorative serial lights, tube lights and focus lights. Music systems arrangements was made at the entrance of the street. Games, competitions was conducted. Dance, drama was performed by the Solai Colony kids, in a pre arranged stage. Chief guest distributed prizes to the winners.
