Sivakasi Marathon 2015

On 1st March 2015, Sunday, the Seventh Sivakasi Marathon, 42.2km, 10km run took off to a rousing start from Annamalai Nadar Unnamalai Ammal Municipality Higher Secondary School Play Ground early morning. Over 8,000 participants took part in the event organized by Lions Club of Sivakasi Cosmos. In fact all the roads of Sivakasi led to AU School early morning which was brimming with enthusiastic runners of various age groups. Sivakasi school goers and college boys and girls were present in huge numbers to participate in the event and needless to say the mood was quite upbeat among the participants. The entire Sivakasi Marathon 2015 was well organized and participants did not face any inconvenience regarding the route as volunteers were present at every nook and corner. Water and refreshments were also provided to participants at various intervals. Ambulance and medical team also followed the runners of each category of race. The dignitaries on the dais gave away prizes and certificates to all the winners of various categories of the race.
