Rain brings horror to wayside vendors

Around 25 shops were placed near Badrakaliamman Kovil, for Chithirai Pongal festival, today-s rain, affects all the stalls. With sudden occurrence of rain at afternoon, roadside vendors found it difficult to protect their wares. Devotees who were thronging Badrakaliamman temple ran helter-skelter in search of some shield to cover from rain. Very few devotees visited after the rain. Moderate to heavy rain continued for about 30 to 40 minutes from 03:15 p.m., in Sivakasi town. It is expected the situation will be normal and the temple will attracts more devotees, tonight. Chithirai Pongal roadside vendors suffered loss of business due to rainfall. Vendors pray to stop rain for the next one day.
