Vaikasi Brahmotsavam 2015 - Therottam

Sivan devotees thronged Sivakasi Viswanathan Visalakshmi Amman Thirukovil to participate in the annual temple car festival held as part of the 11 day Vaikasi Brahmotsavam Festival, on, 27th May 2015, Wednesday, at 07:00 a.m.. After special pujas were performed to the presiding deities, Sivan and Visalakshi, the event began from Sivan Kovil at 07:15 a.m.. Devotees pulled the decorated temple car which carried the idols of presiding deities. The procession covered the four car streets of Sivakasi town. The temple car procession was accompanied with band set and Kerala Chenda Melam. Hundreds of people witnessed Therottam Festival in Sivakasi. A huge posse of policemen, assisted by Traffic Constable and volunteers of Hindu Arakattalaithurai, regulated the large gathering. Some Sivakasians captured the golden moments of therottam in their mobile phones and digital cameras.
