Rain surprises Sivakasi

Today, surprisingly the rain showers that lashed Sivakasi town from 04:35 p.m. to 05:15 p.m. provided some respite from the sweltering weather. The rain, accompanied by lightning, strong wind and thunders for more than 30 minutes, picked up momentum. The drains were overflowed and the roads remained flooded for some hours. Rainy onslaughts leave several roads damaged, in Sivakasi. Several low-lying areas in the town were inundated after the incessant heavy rain. The downpour brought cheers for Sivakasians. Yesterday rain plays hide and seek, it was hotter at day time and cloudier, darker but fails to rain. Today, the nearby town Thiruthangal receives mild drizzle. Sky will be partly cloudy for the next one week, with maximum and minimum temperature of 37 and 25 degree celsius.
