Northeast monsoon likely to set in on October 28

CHENNAI: Northeast monsoon is likely to set in over Tamil Nadu and some other southern parts of the country from October 28 following "favourable conditions," India Meteorolical Department (IMD) said today.

"Conditions are favourable for the commencement of northeast monsoon rainfall over Tamilnadu and Kerala and adjoining areas of south Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka around (October) 28," IMD said in a bulletin.

Northeast monsoon, which is usually active from October to December, brings the bulk of Tamil Nadus annual rainfall.

In Sivakasi, for the 10 days sky will be cloudy with chances for rain, with maximum and minimum temperature of 29 and 22 degree celsius.
