All souls day observed in Sivakasi

Sivakasi Catholic community observed All Souls Day (Kallarai Thirunaal), today. This special day, also known as the Day of the Dead, is set aside to remember and honor the dead in one-s family and follows All Saints- Day. Its an opportunity to remember together those who have died more recently, especially those who have loved and miss. The annual Day of the Dead is observed for family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. Graves were decorated with garlands. Special prayers has been taken place amidst North East Monsoon rain. After the prayer has been completed, fruits and sweets were distributed to the people who are residing near Graveyard.
