21 flying squads for Virudhunagar

Twenty-one flying squads have been formed to monitor implementation of the model code of conduct in all the seven Assembly constituencies of Virudhunagar district. These squads have been provided with GPS-fitted vehicles and are monitored from a control room at the Collector’s office.

According to a press release from Collector V. Rajaraman, 21 static squads and seven video surveillance teams have been formed, at the rate of three squads for each Assembly constituency. Complaints of poll code violations can be lodged with the round-the-clock control room functioning at the Collectorate by dialling 1950 or 04562252466.
