Kayiru kuthu Utsav - Panguni Pongal 2016

Sivakasi Mariamman Kovil Panguni Pongal 2016 - Kayirukuthu festival was celebrated in Sivakasi, yesterday. Large number of devotees take part in Vesham Poduthal ( swearing of white and black dots in their body and having neem leaves in their hands ) and raised the Aahoi Ayyaahoi Aaathaathaa Periyaathaa slogans. Devotees carried mulaipaari, agni chatti, 1000 kannu paanai, and maavilakku. Some devotees perform nerthikadan such as Padha Kaanikai, Kan Malar, Muthu Poduthal, Kayirukuthudhal and mottai podudhal. Sevaral fans club and Social Clubs in Sivakasi distributed free Sambar Rice, Butter Milks, Lemon Juices and Paanai Karam to the people. Mandagapadi was decorated with festoons, fruits and flowers. Thousands visited mandagapadi and offered their prayers to Amman. Sivakasi Hindu Nadar Uravinmurai arranged the festival in a grand and in an systematic manner. The temple and police administration have made special arrangements to conduct the festival in a smooth manner. There was live coverage and broadcast of the festival by the local cable tv networks. Kayirukuthu festival entertains all sections of people in Sivakasi.
