Sivakasi celebrates New Year 2017

At the stroke of midnight, wild celebrations broke out in Sivakasi town. Sivakasians burst firecrackers from 11:00 p.m. onwards and danced to the popular numbers to welcome the New Year 2017. In crackers city, a vivid and eye-catching non stop display of fireworks for more than two hours adorned the midnight skies throughout Sivakasi. "Happy New Year" rent the air as the revellers greeted each other on roads, hotels, clubs and other venues of the New Year parties. Majority of the houses in Sivakasi were decorated with Kolams with New Year Greet. Special prayers were performed in temples and churches.
