Diwali Celebration in Sivakasi

There was non stop Diwali celebration in Sivakasi from 25th October 2011 night to 26th October night. Some Sivakasians took oil bath and worship their favorite gods in temple and some did poojas. There was huge crowd in all the mutton stalls and in chicken centres. Non veg likers stood in queue and bought. Some Sivakasians prepared Paniyaaram, Ulundha Vada, Aama Vada, Gulab Jamun as sweets. Some preferred in buying packed sweets from sweet stall. Some Sivakasians were eager in watching the new released movies in theatres. As a result there was huge crowd in front of Cinema theatres. Most of the theatres were house full. Some Sivakasians showed their interest towards special Diwali shows broadcasted in Television. Everyone was with their new dresses and fired crackers. Some elephants have been seen in the streets and kids got ride of it and others got blessings from it. Most of the auto drivers were on leave. It was difficult for Sivakasians to travel from one place to another. It was very hard to drive in the roads of Sivakasi, only skilled can drive in Sivakasi, because of roadless roads and youngers firing crackers in the roads for last two days. So most of the Sivakasians avoid roaming. Children were very eager in firing ground floors, twinkling stars, flower pots, Kambi Mathaappu and bijilis. Roller caps and dot caps were in the favorites list of school goers. We heard non stop sounds and colourful lights throughout diwali days.
