Patron visits college

Mepco E-Learning Centre was inaugurated by Jockim Von Schlenk, the patron of Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi. HIs father Gunter Von Schlenk had inaugurated the college buildings in September 1986. Mr. Jockim Von, the CEO of Carl Schlenk AG, Germany, a 138-year-old enterprise that runs Metal Powder Company, delivered a lecture on the topic, ‘Opportunities for higher studies in Germany.’

He spoke on career opportunities in the engineering domains in Germany. He said there were about 80,000 vacancies for engineering jobs in his country. The cost of higher education was very less when compared to other European countries, and in most of the German universities it was totally free. Many Indians were pursuing higher studies in Germany, he added. A. Tenzing, Correspondent, S.Arivazhagan, Principal, were present.
