21-02-2018 People’s demands will be met The State government, which is being run on the path laid by late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, is determined to ensure that all demands related to basic amenties were met, Minister for Milk and Dairy Development K.T. Rajenthra Bhalaji has said. Speaking at a foundation laying function for a joint drinking water scheme and panchayat union office building in Sivakasi on Friday, he said the government was proactive in understanding the needs of the people and implementing schemes to address them. According to a statement issued by the Virudhunagar district administration, the Tamirabharani Joint Drinking Water Scheme, for which the foundation was laid, will be implemented at a cost of Rs. 404.13 crore and will address the drinking water needs of Sivakasi, Rajapalayam and Thiruthangal municipalities. A check-dam will be built across the Tamirabharani at Kondanagaram for supply of water for the scheme. The minister said a similar joint drinking water scheme with Tamirabharani as the source was also being planned for Virudhunagar, Aruppukkottai, and Sattur municipalities. |
