Sivakasi Mariamman Temple wore festive look, as thousands of colorful lights set the temple aglow. There are also hundreds of serial lit GOD & GODDESS structures to mark the 2018 Panguni Pongal Festival in Sivakasi. Work to light up the temple started last week and it is expected to be completed by today. The temple will dazzlingly light up every night until April second week and has become a much-awaited Panguni Pongal and Kayirukuthu event for Sivakasians and visitors alike. Panguni Pongal is on 8th April 2018, Sunday and Kayirukuthu festival is on 9th April 2018, Monday. This year Sivakasi & Virudhunagar Pongal coincide on the same date.
