Yesterday, at evening Sivakasi town receives heavy rainfall for around 35 minutes at evening. The drains were overflowed and the roads remained flooded for some hours. Rainy onslaughts leave several roads damaged, in Sivakasi. Several low-lying areas in the town were inundated after the incessant heavy rain. Rain water harvesting systems, installed in buildings, received copious amount of water. The downpour brought cheers for Sivakasians. Rain plays hide and seek in Sivakasi for the past two days, but yesterday Sivakasi experienced heavy rainfall. Usually there is mild drizzle on every panguni pongal therottam and heavy rainfall occurs on every chithirai pongal, but this year, Sivakasi receives heavy rainfall on Panguni Pongal. For the next one week sky will be cloudy with chances for rain, with maximum and minimum temperature of 35 and 27 degree celsius respectively.
