2019 Chithirai Pongal Float Festival held at Mariamman Temple

On 14th May 2019, Tuesday, as a part of Chithirai Pongal Festival 2019, Sivakasi Hindu Nadar Uravinmurai organised float festival, at Sivakasi Mariamman Kovil, Teppakulam. Due to no rain for the past few months, there is no water in Badrakaliamman Teppakulam, this year the Sivakasi Hindu Nadar Uravinmurai organised the float festival at Mariamman Teppakulam. Hundreds of devotees thronged Mariamman Temple tank for the float festival. The teppakulam was decorated with colourful lights. The presiding deity of the temple, Goddess Badrakali Amman was taken on the grand float, decorated with flowers and colourful appendages.
