Thaipusam therottam & Theppa Thiruvizha held at Sivakasi

On 28th January 2021, Thursday, as a part of Thai Poosam Festival, chatta thaer procession was held, in the four car streets of Sivakasi Town. Sivakasians celebrate muted Thaipusam festival, due to Covid Pandemic. The chatta thaer stands an impressive 25 feet tall, made of pieces of wood and covered with colourful clothes, festoons and flowers. Sivakasi Murugan devotees drawn chariot of Lord Muruga from Agni Vinayakar Kovil to Sivakasi Subramaniaswamy Thirukovil. The priests by then have conducted puja for the Deity, at Murugan Temple. Golden chariot procession also held, at night, in the four car streets. Theppa Thiruvizha was held on 29th January 2021, Friday, at Sivakasi Mariamman Koyil Theppam. Earlier last Theppa Thiruvizha was held on the same Thaipoosam Festival. After a gap of one year Theppa Thiruvizha was held.
