Temple chariot reaches destination on 5th day

Panguni Pongal Therottam begins on 12th April 2023, Wednesday. Devotees pulled the decorated temple car which carried the idols of presiding deities Goddess Mariamman. The decorated periya ther reached its destination, on fifth day (yesterday 16th April 2023, Sunday), usually it takes only 2 to 4 days to get completed. Due to damaged patch roads, it took five days to get complete the therottam. For mannur water project pipeline testing, all the roads were seen pothole-filled and patch-worked roads. Dig gigs continue to haunt Sivakasi town for the last eight months. A huge crowd gathered on Sunday (5th day) and witnessed the colourfully decorated car from the top of various buildings. Some Sivakasians captured the golden moments of therottam in their mobile phones and digital cameras.
