Thai Pongal falls on the very next day of Thiruvathirai Festival

Every year Thiruvathirai festival falls on first or last week of January or December. Sometimes, Thiruvathirai celebrated two times in a calendar year (on January and December). This year Thai Pongal Festival celebrated on the very next day of Thiruvathirai Festival. Usually there is difference of 10 days between these two festivals. There will be huge sale of sugarcane and panangailangu on both the festivals. But this time the sale turns to be one and the same for both Thiruvathirai and Pongal.
