Sivakasians celebrate opening of Satchiyapuram Raillway Road Over Bridge

Following the inauguration of Sivakasi Satchiyapuram ROB on 11th November 2025, Tuesday, Sivakasians thronged the newly opened bridge with family and friends, celebrating with fireworks, distributing sweets and expressing gratitude to Central and State Government for resolving a long-standing civic issue that had caused regular traffic congestion and safety hazards over the years.

The over bridge, constructed to ease traffic bottlenecks and ensure smooth movement between Satchiyapuram and Sivakasi, is expected to drastically cut waiting times at railway crossings, a persistent challenge for daily commuters, traders, and schoolchildren. Residents hailed the project as a significant infrastructure milestone that would not only improve connectivity but also stimulate economic activity in the region.

The bridge turned to be a picnic spot for the Sivakasians, as the ROB was decorated with lights. From the bridge they captured the train and took selfie. At night there was non stop fireworks show organised for around 30 minutes. Sivakasians captured the historical moments in their mobile and camera.
