Panguni Pongal Celebrated with Devotion and Festive Spirit

The auspicious festival of Panguni Pongal was celebrated with great enthusiasm and religious fervour across Virudhunagar District on 5th April 2026, Monday. Devotees gathered in large numbers at temples early in the morning to offer special prayers and participate in traditional rituals. Goddess Mariamman Temple beautifully decorated with colourful lights, flowers, and elaborate pandals. Special puja ceremonies were conducted, and the atmosphere was filled with devotional songs and chants. In front of the temple, women prepared the traditional Pongal dish as an offering to the deity, symbolizing gratitude and prosperity. The aroma of freshly cooked Pongal filled the air as families and devotees came together to celebrate the occasion, in Sivakasi. Local authorities made necessary arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of the festivities, including crowd management and security.
