Sivakasi Panguni Pongal Therottam

Hundreds of devotees gathered along four car streets of Sivakasi to witness the grand procession, where beautifully decorated temple chariots carrying the deity were pulled by devotees using long chains. The ther (chariot), adorned with flowers, colourful fabrics, and lights, moved slowly through the four car streets amid chants of devotion Aagoi Ayyagoi and traditional music. Chinna Ther reached its destination at 5:45 p.m. on 8th April 2026, Wednesday. Devotees, including men, women, and children, actively participated in pulling the big chariot, considering it a sacred act that brings blessings and prosperity. The four car streets were filled with spiritual fervour as people offered prayers. Periya Ther reached near Agni Vinayakar Temple, on day one. It is expected that Periya Ther will reach its destination on 11th April 2026, Saturday.
