Rain on Day 1 of May Month

Sharp showers lashed several parts of the Sivakasi area for nearly one hour between 5:50 pm to 6:50 pm. on May 1, bringing relief to Sivakasians on the occasion of International Workers' Day. The sudden evening rain cooled down the scorching summer heat and created a cheerful atmosphere among the public and workers celebrating the holiday. The rain also led to minor water stagnation in a few low-lying areas, but no major disruptions were reported. The cool breeze and cloudy weather that followed the rain added to the festive mood of Sivakasi Chithirai Pongal celebrations.
