Heavy rain accompanied by intense thunder and lightning lashed Sivakasi on Thursday, October 22, bringing widespread showers to the town. Sivakasi recorded 4 cm of rainfall following the downpour. The rain began at around 6:15 p.m. and continued until 8:30 p.m., with frequent thunder and lightning illuminating the evening sky. Although the intensity of the rainfall subsided after 8:30 p.m., intermittent drizzle continued throughout the night. On Friday, October 23, the day began with mild drizzle, while occasional showers continued during the daytime, maintaining the wet weather conditions in the town.

Earlier, on Sunday, October 18, Sivakasi experienced moderate rainfall between 8:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The showers were accompanied by an extraordinary display of lightning, with thousands of lightning flashes and repeated thunderclaps reported during the thunderstorm. The successive spells of rainfall, accompanied by spectacular lightning and thunder, marked a particularly wet spell for Sivakasi during the festive season. With 4 cm of rainfall recorded on October 22, the town continued to experience cloudy skies and intermittent drizzle the following day.
