Vinayakar Chathurthi - Idol Immersion in Sivakasi

As a part of Vinayakar Chathurthi Festival, Idol Immersion of Lord Vinayaka was performed, yesterday, in Sivakasi, at 06:00 p.m.. Thousands of devotees on Friday night took part in the procession ahead of the immersion of 33 Vinayaka idols installed in the major places of the town. The Vinayaga idol was taken out in a grand procession from Sivakasi Mariamman Temple. It passed through main roads of the town before immersion.

The Idol Radhams were decorated with flowers, festoons, garlands and balloons.A few groups of devotees carried out mulaipaari, paavai vilakku while others danced throughout the procession accompanied with band sets. The town police made elaborate security arrangements to ensure peace during the procession. The traffic movement was restricted and parking was banned near Mariamman Temple for several hours in the evening due to the procession. All the idols were immersed near Jakkammaal Kovil.
