Flower prices skyrocket in Sivakasi

Flower prices in Sivakasi skyrocketed for last two days. A florist said sivakasiweekly.com that, the hike in price is due to Kalyaana Muhurtham and Kandha Sasti Festival. 100kg of Jasmine flower priced Rs.300 and Pichipoo priced Rs.150 per kg, usually the prices of Jasmine and Pichipoo is Rs.150 and Rs.75 per kg respectively, she added. For last two days, with skyrocket prices of flowers, flowers remain out of reach for the common man in Sivakasi town.
