Karthigai Celebration in Sivakasi

Karthigai, the festival of lights or Mini Diwali was celebrated on 27th of November 2012, in Sivakasi. In front of their homes Sivakasians drew beautiful deepam kolams. For lunch Sivakasians prepared 27 varieties of side dishes, some with 19 and 21 varieties. Thirukarthigais delicious sweets Kadalai urundai were prepared and eaten by Sivakasians and shared them with their neighbours, friends and relatives. At evening deepams were lighten in front of the houses and offices. Kids enjoyed firing crackers.
